Who Needs the Pastor-Theologian Again
Or to say it again another way: The point of most pastor-theologian programs is to get more theology into the local church. The mission of the SAET is to get more of the local church into theology.

Have you had a chance to read Daniel Treier’s “Introduction to Theological Interpretation: Recovering a Christian Practice”? I just read it over Christmas break and thought of the goal of SAET while doing so. Theological interpretation of Scripture would seem to be related in that it is reading (and responding) not for the academics, but for the Church. Just thought I’d mention it for whatever its worth. Blessings in the New Year.

Hey Rick,
No I haven’t read Treier’s book. Yes, I think theological interpretation of Scripture is right up the SAET’s alley.
