    The Necessity of Ontological Renewal for Christ’s Humanity

    As I was finishing revising my 2008 symposium paper on Athanasius’ soteriology I was also reading through Romans. Verse ten of chapter six brought me up short, “the death he died he died to sin…” What a remarkable thing to say about “he who knew no sin.” In what way did Christ die to sin?
