Who Needs the Pastor-Theologian Again
Or to say it again another way: The point of most pastor-theologian programs is to get more theology into the local church. The mission of the SAET is to get more of the local church into theology.

Reformation 21 Article
The kind folks over at Reformation 21 have posted my article, “Ecclesial Theology and Academic Theology: Why We Need More of the Former.”
The article briefly recounts the founding of the SAET, and is my latest attempt to flesh out a distinction between academic theology and ecclesial theology. If you read it and have thoughts, I’m interested to hear them.

The SAET Blog: Where You Can Now Find Eccleisal Theology, Not Just Stuff About Ecclesial Theology
Well, up till now I’ve pretty much only written about eccleisal theology here on the SAET blog. I haven’t really written much actual ecclesial theology itself. Most of that sort of thing was taking place (if at all) over at my original blog, Iustificare.
But a new day is dawning here at the SAET. After careful consultation with the executive director, the decision was made to widen the scope of the SAET blog to include all issues related to theology and the life of the church. So in addition …

Piper and Carson, April 23
My good friend and fellow SAET board member, Owen Strachen, has pulled together a great event via his role as the managing director of the Carl F. H. Henry Center for Theological Understanding.
